something called near beer, and sell ice as well ("Spoetzl Brewery"). With such ingenuity, the company would continue through a time when alcohol was illegal. After Prohibition, things would become
more competitive as Anheuser-Busch relocated to Texas ("Spoetzl Brewery"). Still, the company would hold its own. It continues to thrive but is still considered a relatively small establishment. The firm
now has fifty five employees ("Spoetzl Brewery"). Perhaps this brewerys best known beer is in fact its bock beer. Shiner Bock beer "reflects the tradition of genuine Bavarian beers as
a brew only a craftsman like Kosmos Spoetzl, trained in the Old Country, could bring to life" ("Shiner.com"). This beer is deep amber in color and its flavor is rich
and full bodied ("Shiner.com"). Most bock German lager beers have an IBU rating between 20 and 30 ("International Bittering Units (IBU) Chart"). When rating a beer, bitterness matters. The only
