All the information is about Interviewee #59. In respect to the material, it appears that this individual was 32 years old at the time of the interview. That was
in 1950, so this individual if still living would be about 84 years old. At the time, she was single, from Russia, but never enlisted in the Army. Instead, she
had graduated from technical school. She reported that she was never arrested or imprisoned. However, she reports that family members were, and the interview contains much detail about her fathers
imprisonment and how it affected her life and psyche. The interviewee graduated from technical school in 1935 and became an aspirant until the war, working in the division
of inorganic chemistry. In discussing her stint in this profession, the refugee goes on to comment about the Soviet system for fostering medical doctors, and is something that she disagrees
with. She believes that doctors should be offered a monetary incentive to visit hard hit areas instead of forcing them. She does however believe that firm discipline is necessary in
the Army for example. Hence, while she does not like the treatment of the Soviet union in some respects it seems as if she agrees with other things. She is
not completely against the model. At the same time, there are rather distressing stories contained in the data. One important memory for the subject is that her father had been
arrested several times. This seems to be something that had stood out in her mind even years after the events. Once, an arrest occurred in 1929 and at the time,
she reports he had assets which were taken by the NKVD, an organization that was named GPU at the time. When asked, the subject responded that she thought of
