to overnight a letter, they say that they will Fedex the document. The success of this relatively young company is based more on basic business sense than just on the
fact that they have selected an innovative and needed product. The company has taken great pains to pay attention to the needs of its employees as well as to provide
excellent and prompt customer service. In a day and age when customer service problems are rarely addressed, Fedex employees make life very easy for the customer from almost instant pick
up service to the offering of many delivery choices. Federal Express has done well in the industry most likely due to its attention to detail and excellent performance. Federal Expressed
is based in Memphis, Tennessee, and began in 1971 as FedEx Express, but did not incorporate until 1998 as FDX Corporation ("FedEx Corporation Facts," 2003). It became the Fedex Corporation
in 2000 (2003). This relatively new firm that trades on the New York Stock Exchange boasts a worth of approximately $22.5 billion for 2003 (2003). The firm services more than
200 countries and its workforce includes more than two hundred thousand individuals as either employees or independent contractors (2003). In evaluating the position of Federal Express as a viable
