In fact, there are a multitude of famous people who have been afflicted with this puzzling condition that prevents students from progressing, at least until identification is made. Also, some
have pointed out that many dyslexics are above average in intelligence or are extremely talented in some way. And while that is the case, many dyslexics do poorly in school,
beginning in preschool. Thus, diagnosis and treatment of dyslexia is important to ones school career, and as one can see by the short list of people who have been affected
by the disorder, dyslexia is by no means indicative of limited intelligence. Still, when symptoms first surface, some students are deemed to be slow. After all, the main indication that
someone has this problem is that they have trouble reading. Reading is the key to all learning. It is what every Kindergartner and first grader strives so hard to do.
And while reading can be difficult enough, it is much harder for someone who has dyslexia. In unraveling the dyslexia puzzle, it is prudent to look at the definition of
the condition, its etiology and treatment options. Just as dyslexia is complex in and of itself, methods of treatment are also varied and complicated. II. What is Dyslexia?
