In a time when most everyone is connected to the Internet, something that is considered to be a tool utilized to expedite buying and selling, the idea to accelerate and improve parts distribution for automobiles is certainly a good idea. With the backing of large corporations, this holding company allows for a new method of selling mundane items and is a good B-to-B idea. Covisint, Inc. is run by CEO Kevin W. English ("Covisint, Inc.," 2002). Hoovers states that the company is trying to bring the automobile industry into modernity with a global Internet exchange in order to improve automakers and suppliers efficiency in accessing supplies (2002). It is a unique idea. Most consumers know that waiting for parts can be difficult, especially if one relies on their car for daily transportation. The idea was originally conceived by Ford, GM and DaimlerChrysler only but the venture has also more recently included Renault/Nissan and Delphi (2002). The goal had been integration and collaboration, something that promises lower costs as well as easier business practices and a significant increase in efficiencies for the whole industry (2002). Indeed, this company that is comprised of other successful organizations is likely to do well. Covisint, Incorporated is technically a holding company which operates through Covisint LLC, a firm that had established offices in Michigan, Amsterdam, and Tokyo ("Covisint, Inc.," 2002). When the company first began as NewCo, the planning team moved into temporary quarters in Michigan ("Covisint," 2002).
