The news is unsettling but again, because of its recency, the details are not yet firm. The company in question is Computer Associates. Computer Associates (CA) is a well known
software firm and one of the largest. It is based in Long Island, New York. Comey (2004) announced that a Corporate Fraud Task Force investigation had led to a 10-count
indictment regarding two former employees of the firm. Sanjay Kumar and Stephen Richards were the named executives and the subjects of the prosecutors quest (2004). The charges range from
obstruction of justice to securities fraud (2004). Shades of Martha Stewart abound and this company is ironically not located far from Stewarts home base. Again, CA is a well
known enterprise and has gained market share. The firm is one of the leading global providers of IT infrastructure management, application development and business information development ("Company," 2004). The firms
products do address a vast array of management challenges and crosses a broad range of "heterogeneous distributed and mainframe platforms found in todays enterprise environments" (2004). Computer Associates is organized
into six unique centers: "Unicenter for enterprise management, BrightStor for storage management, eTrust for security management, AllFusion for application life cycle management, Advantage for data management and application development, and
CleverPath for portal and business intelligence" (2004). It is likely that this compartmentalization strategy is employed due to the vastness of this firms vision. The company is more
than 27 years old and during that time period, has received 200 global patents and further has over 900 applications for patents in the pending stage ("Company," 2004). One can
