the most well known photographer in history. His works were incredibly detailed in terms of his depiction of the nature he saw and his works inspired many to perhaps take
up the art of photography as well as inspiring people to head out and see the nature he photographed for themselves. His work is legendary and beautiful by almost anyones
standards. The following paper examines the life and work of Ansel Adams. An Overview of Ansel Adams and His Work Ansel
Adams was born in 1902 in San Francisco (Turnage). "An only child, Adams was born when his mother was nearly forty. His relatively elderly parents, affluent family history, and the
live-in presence of his mothers maiden sister and aged father all combined to create an environment that was decidedly Victorian and both socially and emotionally conservative" (Turnage). The Adams had
lost their wealth and apparently Ansels mother spend a great portion of her life worrying about this (Turnage). Apparently this affected Ansel for he did not, it seems, get much
maternal attention from her (Turnage). On the other hand Ansels father appears to have been a very supporting and encouraging father (Turnage).
As a child he was shy, did not really fit in and later would claim he was likely a boy who suffered from hyperactivity (Turnage). "There is also the distinct
possibility that he may have suffered from dyslexia. He was not successful in the various schools to which his parents sent him; consequently, his father and aunt tutored him at
