the disease. In the United States it is the 7th leading cause of death today (Alz.org, 2009). The following paper provides an overview of the disease. An Overview
of Alzheimers Disease "Alzheimers disease is a brain disorder named for German physician Alois Alzheimer, who first described it in 1906" (Alz.org, 2009). Since then a great deal has been
discovered, and uncovered, about the disease, including the fact that it is fatal, meaning Alzheimers kills people in the end (Alz.org, 2009). Millions of people in the United States have
this disease. It is believed that there are actually two forms of Alzheimers. There is one form that is experienced before the age of 60, and another that is
commonly experienced after the age of 60. The early onset is far less common than the latter onset of the disease. And, with the early onset it appears as though
the disease progresses very rapidly in such patients. The disease itself is a disease that kills the brain cells of the individual as it progresses. People with Alzheimers lose
their memory and have difficulty in doing normal things that involve any kind of thinking. Most people assume that people, as they age, lose their memory and become less coherent
when it comes to thought processes. In some cases they may suffer from other forms of what is called dementia, which can often be related to other health conditions. Alzheimers
is considered to be a form of dementia, but yet dementia is simply a broad term for a condition connected with memory loss and reduced mental functioning. People with
