complex and an artist who had many different stages in his life and in his art. He was very influential to many artists of his time, and many artists that
would follow. His style changed, but yet always remained seemingly bold yet simplistic, almost primitive. In short, he is clearly complex and legendary in the world of art. The following
paper examines some aspects of Picasso and his art. An Examination of Pablo Picasso Picassos style was very complex and he possessed many different styles of approach to
art. He went through many different "periods" as a result. For example, just as he emerged, with his Black Period, as the creator of Cubism and people began to catch
on he was already moving on to painting portraits that were more in the classical style (Johnson). In terms of various periods, prior to his Black Period, was his Blue
and his Rose Period. The Blue Period took place from around 1901 to 1904 and then the Rose Period was from 1905 to 1908 (Lane). Then came his Black Period
which was influenced by African art. Apparently "art historians have stopped short of burdening us with an African Period" although it seems that the African Period and the Black Period
seemingly merged (Lane). Picasso became immersed in African art in 1907 and most importantly the African masks, which is what seriously impacted
his art and allowed him to create the infamous work Demoiselles dAvignon. Strickland notes how "he produced the breakthrough painting Demoiselles dAvignon, one of the few works that singlehandedly altered
