with industrialization one could argue that art took many unique and radical changes, moving away from simple paintings to artwork that incorporated so many elements and styles and techniques. Two
forms of art that can well be connected to the industrial changes in the world, as they became more and more a part of society, are the forms known as
avant-garde and readymade, both of which seem founded in a relatively new technological world. The following paper examines, separately, these two styles/movements. An Examination of Art: Avant-Garde In
many ways one can define avant-garde as simply "different" and not mainstream. Artists, which also included writers and other individuals engaging in some form of creative work, were ultimately determined
to leave mainstream, to avoid commercialism, and do things that were completely unique and against the grain of society, so to speak. With avant-garde work there was also perhaps often
a statement being made, some aggressive statement about society or politics. And, it should be understood that a growing technological world was far more chaotic and stressful and perhaps even
pushed artists to this particular level of approach in relationship to art. Artists have long searched for some meaning or expression in a changing world, and artists have long reflected
the changes in any given society so with some chaos and change came more chaotic art. In truth, defining and keeping track
of any particular group or movement concerning the avant-garde artists is futile for the entire purpose of being avant-garde was not belonging to a movement or group. As such truly
