not so obvious is that in any good piece of literature, the conclusion must be satisfying. The end of the piece must make sense and bring the work full circle
so there is a sense of wholeness. Many classics do this. The authors write a great story, tell it with a substantial amount of detail and then provide an ending
that satisfies. It generally accomplishes the necessary task of bringing closure to the story. Wuthering Heights is one work that does this well. Emily Brontes Wuthering Heights is a novel
that spans several generations and includes primarily stories involving two families, the Earnshaws and the Lintons. At the start, there is the romantic pair of Catherine and Heathcliff. And then,
there is another Cathy, a younger Cathy who is involved with a gentleman from the third generation, and these unions create a pattern for this great novel. Catherine had
always been fond of Heathcliff and a love story eventually develops. Of course, while they are raised as siblings, they are not blood relatives. It is perhaps the irony here
that creates problems for Heathcliff who so desperately wants Catherine, but realizes that he cannot have her. She allows herself to be taken by another and gets married.
Yet, it is suggested that she marries more for money than love and this brings up a curious point. In reality, Catherine loves Heathcliff. He overhears that she does not
want to be with him due to his paltry means, and then he goes out to prove her wrong. While there is plotting and he woos another simply for revenge,
one can hardly say that he has character issues. After all, it is Catherine who is of poor character as she values money over love. She marries for the wrong
