is an incredible athlete and when he hung up his jersey he was apparently honored with an incredible statue to commemorate his skills and his legacy. The following paper evaluates
and critiques the statue of Jordan. An Evaluation and Critique of the Michael Jordan Statue The Michael Jordan statue was created or unveiled in 1994 and is made
from bronze. It was created using what is known as the lost wax process wherein something is essentially sculpted and carved and then cast in bronze. It is a statue,
that as one would assume, is of Michael Jordan and it was created to, as mentioned, commemorate all his legendary plays, his skill, and perhaps his physique. In relationship
to its social context one can clearly see that it embodies the sport of basketball along with embodying Jordan himself. It is a beautiful and strong statue that speaks of
ones physical abilities, or the physical abilities of Jordan. It offers Jordan seemingly leaping effortlessly to the hoop with a basketball in his hands. It is long and lean and
truly depicts the physique of Jordan. As it concerns the form of this statue it is incredibly realistic and perhaps almost Greek or Roman in its presentation. It is
not abstract or geometric but that does not mean it does not have some of those elements within. For example, there is a strong geometric, or physics, shape to Jordan
as all his limbs are stretched out as he reaches for the hoop. There is also a realistic, but also almost abstract, reality involved with the sort of lump of
people beneath and behind him who clearly cannot touch him or stop him from his action. The composition is incredibly detailed in this sculpture. It is also very large,
