with practices that either mandate taking off hats when entering a building or simply utilizing a different sort of head covering. Similarly, men who work in the United States may
be required by their firm to work a certain amount of hours with set breaks. Sometimes, the men are supposed to pray at certain times of the day and so,
there may be conflict there. A second example of a conflict between the law and culture is related to international law. If an American company decided to relocate to China,
how would they embrace customs and culture? Would they abide American convention or Chinese ways of doing things? A third example concerns politics and the enormous role it plays in
the business world. For example, if someone wants to do business in a nation that is rife with conflict, then it may be the case that the entire business will
be at risk. What if there is a coup and the government suddenly goes from being a democracy to a dictatorship? Clearly, there is risk involved with every international business
decision, and ethics play a significant role. When it comes to the first example, or the conflict between religious practice-wearing head coverings, prayer-and the employer in America, there are laws
that govern this. American law mandates that employers reasonably accommodate employees religious practices (Fenner, 2007). Yet, many companies today are bending over backwards to try to accommodate culture. Marofsky claims
