1b. The Solution The solution is for Wal-Mart to provide a childcare centre on site. This will be a cost effective way of increasing the reliability of the employees, reducing
the level of distraction as the children are also on site. This will reduce the causes of absences, lateness and distraction and as such the need for employees to leave
or to face disciplinary action which then causes them to leave. 2. Analysis 2.a Background Many of the employees employed by Wal-Mart have young children that are not yet of school
age. As this is also a low paid position for many employees they do not have a larger amount of income to pay for childcare. This results in ad-hoc arrangements
the impact on the workplace and can cause resignations. 2b Causes of the problem This limits the hours they can do and were
their childcare arrangements are insecure it can transform a usually reliable worker into an unreliable employee. Even where childcare arrangements are good there can still be distractions with the mothers,
or fathers in a minority of cases, need to call home to make sure their children are OK, or need to receive calls from a babysitter with concerns. This is
