of others will lead to better decision-making in terms of planning an effective, successful curriculum for students educations. About the Author Ronald Doll is both an educator and
an author. It is interesting to note the point of view which his text reveals and how that point of view influences his opinions. He is direct and
decisive in terms of the ideas which he presents for readers to ponder. Main Points of Text Ronald Doll (1996) defines curriculum as follows: The curriculum of
a school is the formal and informal content and process by which learners gain knowledge and understanding, develop skills, and alter attitudes, appreciations, and values under the auspices of that
school (Doll, 1996 p15). There are many various definitions as to what curriculum actually is or how it is defined, and, what is interesting about Dolls (1996) definition
