This will be examined in the context of the Pentad scheme. The Pentad is a method of analysis and includes the categories of Act, Scene, Agent, Agency and Purpose.
Act: John Paul grew up and encountered a variety of things in his life. Then he died, something that brought the world to a halt. It
was an important time as everyone in the world--whether or not they were Catholic--would contemplate the event. Yet, in terms of this category of Act, one has to examine what
happened. One may consider John Pauls "Act" to be his entire life, and not just the recent death of John Paul. John Paul was born Karol Jozef Wojtyla (Christensen, 2005).
He grew up in Poland during a difficult time in history. Yet, his family was not anti-Semitic and he in fact had some Jewish friends (Christensen, 2005). His friends called
him Lolek (Christensen, 2005). During his childhood, Lolek would have a great deal of strife as his mother died as well as a brother and sister (Christensen, 2005). He himself
suffered a great deal physically (Christensen, 2005). He was an actor, an athlete and a singer (Christensen, 2005). Lolek had many talents. One may classify the action as the various
things that this Pope engaged in as he grew up. He was ordained in 1946 (Christensen, 2005). The Act is John Pauls life. It is a life that has
been well lived and he traveled a great deal. One example is that he traveled to Cuba and that was considered to be a historic trip (Stevens-Arroyo, 2002). One can
