presented. This paper will present such a multifaceted overview of the film. This paragraph helps the student begin to analyze the story of the film. The story of "Good Will
Hunting" is compelling on a number of levels. The reason it satisfies audiences so thoroughly is perhaps because of its close adherence to the classical paradigm of storytelling. One can
directly map the actions of the script to the classical paradigm in a fairly direct fashion (Huntley, 1996). The classical paradigm mandates that a story begin with some degree of
exposition to establish the narrative, followed by an inciting incident that leads to rising action, a climax, and then falling action, followed by a turning point and a clear resolution.
IN the case of "Good Will Hunting", the exposition occurs when the viewer first sees Will Hunting, the schools janitor, solve a complex mathematical equation in an anonymous fashion; this
establishes that something unusual is going on, and sets the stage for the inciting action: Professor Lambeaus taking an interest in Will in order to save him from going to
jail after Will assaults a police officer. This in turn establishes the time frame which Will has to "turn his life around", which provides the rising action of the film,
in the form of Wills interaction with Sean the therapist, and the revelations of Wills psychological discord. The climax of the film occurs when the therapist has a breakthrough with
