husband. When Abby tries to help, she too is sent to the hospital. But the perpetrator seems otherwise civil. How can an otherwise ordinary individual become a raving lunatic and
beat his loved ones? First a look at domestic violence may help to shed light on this compelling subject. Domestic violence has been defined as a way of exhibiting
control and often consists of physical, sexual, or psychological violence against current or former intimate partners (Erickson & Hart, 1998). Domestic violence is something thought of as being proliferated
against women, but it can occur against men in both homosexual and heterosexual relationships (1998). While domestic violence can be proliferated against men, about 95% of reported domestic abuse cases
