studies after my graduation from Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland, should reflect a specific educational focus. Over the course of the past three years, I spent
a considerable amount of time defining my course of study and integrating academic, cultural, political and social pursuits with the expectation that these would support my professional and personal development.
By the end of my second year at Montgomery College, I recognized that my academic pursuits would require that I transfer to a four year educational program. The student
should not concentrate on high school to any great degree. A simple mention of where the student attended high school would suffice. I was a successful student
in high school and participated in a number of extra curricular activities, including sports and academic programs like "Brothers," all of which I believed would expand my intellectual development.
Once I entered Montgomery College, though, I realized that I not only had to focus on challenging course work and new social and political goals, but I also had to
mature, to gain wisdom and to seek the support of educators. During this time, I also participated in a number of sports activities, including participation in the cross-country and
track and field teams. My choice to participate in sports at the college level came as a result of my high school experiences and my long standing love
of sports. My personal achievement in high school sports led me to seek out the same experiences on the college level. At the same time, I have always
