educational background that I need to pursue my goals and aspirations. My personal goals can be broken down into three basic categories: academic, cultural/social and professional. My
aspirations include the expectation of being a productive and positive influence; I hope to obtain the educational background to make positive decisions and to make an impact on society as
a whole. My first goal is academic. My pursuit of an education at Virginia State University extends from my belief that the educational institution has resources and a
high standard of education. I understand that in pursuing an education, I must be an active and participatory student. It is my goal to be a member of
the college community; a part of academic support mechanisms; and an individual who can demonstrate high academic achievement. But on a more individual basis, I plan on attending Virginia
State University because I recognize post-secondary education as a basis for future learning. In fact, life time learning is an element of my future aspirations, and I believe that
Virginia State University can offer the type of educational background that would promote life time learning. Im also planning on pursuing an educational degree in Computer Engineering.
My academic goals, then, related directly to my potential career focus include: 1. to develop an understanding of the history and background of computer engineering; 2. to develop
knowledge of concepts, information technologies, and design approaches related to computer engineering; and 3. to develop an understanding of computer-based systems, the changing nature of technology and the impacts
