whether or not their sons or daughters will get into the college of their choice, and they do focus on what many consider important choices. Of course, the worry is
really insignificant. Americans will not starve to death, even if they lose their life savings. Even the homeless have access to shelter and they can go to food banks
for sustenance. If they are thirsty, they can go to the water fountain in the park. And while the argument may appear irrational, when one compares the poorest Americans lifestyle
and access to that of people who live in third world countries, the argument may not be moot. In America, there is available food and water, gymnasiums, and attention to
diet and exercise, and finally, there is access to affordable health care. That is, in an emergency, no one will be turned away. No one will be left to die.
Recently, Michael Moore was interviewed on the Oprah show regarding the health care crisis. However, the crisis only involves how the money is transferred. Clearly, people have health care in
the Untied States. Even the poorest Americans do. The gist of Moores argument, to which Oprah attached herself, is that no American should have to lose their home over medical
bills. Of course, a representative from the insurance industry was there and did explain that the insurance companies do provide coverage, but Americans have to share the cost. The fact
that people may lose assets to save their lives does not seem to be a crisis when compared with the day in the life of someone from a poor country.
