the conditions of ethnic minorities as well as gender discrimination. It is a subject which touches on sexual preferences and also single, non-married, individuals. There are, in essence, many different
types of American minorities in the country. And, it appears as though all minorities suffer from some form of discrimination, prejudice, and oppression. Bearing that in mind the following paper
addresses the presentation of American minorities through looking at two individual films. The films, discussed separately and then compared, are "True Colors" (1991) and "The Color of Fear" (1994).
True Colors Interestingly enough, by all intents and purposes, one would not necessarily depict issues of discrimination and prejudice in this particular film. This is due to the fact
that, at first glance, it seems to be nothing more than a political film that discusses competition, dishonor, dishonesty, and issues of integrity between two white men. But, at the
same time it is a powerful film about discriminatory realities involving economic classes and women. It is also a film which touches on how people need to look at things
and be socially righteous in a world filled with prejudices and discrimination. Spader plays Tim Garrity who is "a socially responsible young man from the upper-middle classes who is engaged
to the daughter of the influential and powerful Senator Stiles" (Anonymous Cusack and Spader show their True Colors, 2002; 5937&Section=2). The counter character is Cusack who plays Peter Burton, "a
boy from the wrong side of the tracks with ambition to burn" (Anonymous Cusack and Spader show their True Colors, 2002; 5937&Section=2). From this simple perspective we can note
