women see weight, as defining their identity. In this chapter she tells the story of Delia, who is conflicted due to her bulimia. For Delia appearance has
become everything. Delia not only wants to look good for the attention that it gets her, but she is also determined that her self worth is only in her
looks. But she does want to live well so her only perceived choice is to marry well. Thus Delia has staked her present and her future on her
