utilitarianism is, indeed, wrapped around the concept of emotion instead of common sense, it is important for the student to realize that any form of control that is promoted by
the utilitarian belief comes not from the desire to better the world for everyone, but rather to improve it as a means by which to appease the majority. In
its raw form, utilitarianism appears to have the peoples best interest in mind; however, that extension is limited to the number of people who stand to benefit from its application.
Unquestionably, the ones who stand to benefit from Freds test results are his children and the rest of society who also may carry the gene. Therefore, one might
be of the notion that as long as the vast majority favors and accepts the associated components, then no matter the unfair nature of such a request upon Fred, it
