and the internal energy of a specific system. There are two laws. The First Law of thermodynamics has to do with the conservation of energy. The Second Law is about
the direction of the conservation. The Third Law deals with what it takes to reach Absolute Zero (Liaugminas, 2010). In more detail, the First Law of thermodynamics states that
"the total energy output is equal to the amount of heat supplied" (Liaugminas, 2010). Energy can be created and it can be destroyed. This leads to the proposition that "the
sum of mass and energy is always conserved" (Liaugminas, 2010). The mathematical formula for this Law is U=Q-W, which basically states that when a system is closed, any change in
the internal energy of that system is equal to the heat that is added to the system minus the work that the system accomplishes (Liaugminas, 2010). The First Law had
an error which led to the Second Law. The First Law did not take into consideration the limits that would be placed on things that happened in the real world,
such as different natural events that would conserve energy on their own. The Second Law is based on the principle of entropy. It states that the entropy of a system
that is not in equilibrium will increase as time goes on (Liaugminas, 2010). When equilibrium is achieved, maxim value is gained (Liaugminas, 2010). There is a degree of heat or
energy lost when equilibrium does not exist or when disorder is present. The formula for this is: (change)S = Q / T or "the change in entropy is equal to
the amount of heat added to the system [by an invertible process] divided by the temperature in degrees Kelvin)" (Liaugminas, 2010). Hydrogen In 1997, an article entitled "Hydrogen: The
