in India, both as a medicine and as an offering to Shiva (History of marijuana, 2001). It is mentioned in an ancient Persian religious text around 700-600 BC, and is
left as an offering in Scythian royal tombs from 700-300 BC (History of marijuana, 2001). The Scythians introduced marijuana into Europe in about 500 BC in the form of
