where a great deal of warfare and utter chaos seems to reign. The battles in Kosovo are taking place between the Serbs and the Albanians, with many of the Albanians
leaving to find brief sanctuary in Switzerland. In the following paper we examine some of the history of the turmoil, focusing on the beliefs of the Albanians. The paper also
discusses why the Albanians are leaving and why they are headed to Switzerland. Albanians From Kosovo The battles that have raged in Kosovo have been many faceted. For
example, while originally much of the chaos was focused towards the Albanians, it seems some of that trend has changed. In an article from 1999 we note that the battles
which raged had changed face as "The victims are mainly Serbs and other minorities, and the motive is no longer simply revenge for years of attacks on ethnic Albanians. Increasingly,
the attacks are driven by politics, theft and the pursuit of precious housing for ethnic Albanians" (A Return To Ethnic Cleansing 20). Another pair of authors, from the same
year, presents us with similar findings when stating that, "During the war, it was the ethnic Albanians in this area of western Kosovo who fled -- to the refugee camps,
to the forests. Now, it is the Serbian villagers who are displaced, living in a dank schoolhouse in Kraljevo, Serbia, their homes -- almost every one of them -- burned
to blackened rubble by ethnic Albanians" (Finn; Booth A01). It seems that for quite some time it was the Albanians who were suffering at the hands of the Serbs
in a land they felt was theirs. Now that much of the battle with the UN the Albanians are coming out in force and trying to take back their place.
