to focus on core competencies. A good example is a small business where the owner does not have a lot of knowledge and skill in accounting. It is more cost-efficient
for that owner to outsource his accounting tasks. Anyone who has called a manufacturers service center knows that many companies have outsourced this particular activity. It seems a lot of
customer service centers are in India today. Large corporations began outsourcing years ago. Todays large multinational corporations must have an up-to-date information system if they are going to succeed. Stair
and Reynolds (2010) wrote that if a business is going to succeed today, it must be able to provide the right information to the right person at the right time,
even if that person is on the other side of the world. An information system needs to do several things well. First of all, an information system is comprised of
a number of "interrelated components that collect, manipulate, store and disseminate data and information and provide a feedback mechanism to meet an objective" Stair and Reynolds, 2010, p. 4). The
feedback helps organizations achieve their own goals and objectives. Because we really do live in an information society, it is crucial for organizations to be able to manage their information
