led to major incidences involving the airline industry and creating an expanded need for protectionary measures. The Airline
Industry suffered substantial economic damage as a result of the September 11, 2001 terrorist destruction of the New York World Trade Center and the partial destruction of the U.S. Pentagon.
Indeed, these attacks have left a tremendous toll throughout the American economy in general and, even more importantly, in terms of the number of human lives lost and pain
and suffering. In addition to economic costs of the attacks themselves, the economic cost involved with U.S. retaliation have been tremendous. Each will undoubtedly have a long term
effect on the airline industry overall. As a result, greater efforts at maintain airport, airplane and equipment security have been a part of emerging risk management assessments and long-term
