Wuornos was a woman known as a man-hating serial killer, a homeless and confused woman, who was put to death in 2002. The following paper examines the life and actions
of Aileen Wuornos. Aileen Wuornos Ailleen Pittman was born in 1956 in Michigan. Her father was a convicted child molester as well as a sociopath. Her mother, Diane,
apparently married when she was 15 years of age and gave birth to two children. She divorced him after only two years of marriage, just prior to Aileens birth. "Diane
found the responsibilities of single motherhood unbearable and in 1960 she abandoned Aileen and her brother Keith, who were then adopted by their maternal grandparents, Lauri and Britta Wuornos" (Office
of the Clark County Prosecuting Attorney, 2004). They raised the two children as their own. Lauri was a heavy drinker and was incredibly strict (Office of the Clark
County Prosecuting Attorney, 2004). Britta was also a heavy drinker. During these growing times we note that Aileens father was strangled in prison, Aileen, at the age of 14, became
pregnant, Britta died from drinking too much, and Lauri committed suicide (Office of the Clark County Prosecuting Attorney, 2004). Aileen admitted to having sex with her brother, and to generally
engaging in a life that was troubled and delinquent (Office of the Clark County Prosecuting Attorney, 2004). She gave birth to a baby boy in 1971 and he was put
up for adoption (Office of the Clark County Prosecuting Attorney, 2004). She was offered a place to live, with rules, by her mother at this time but Aileen declined and
