falling and despite the expansion strategy in the US and the level of commitment, the establishment of Fresh and Easy is making headway, but has not be as fast to
take of as expected (Orgel, 2008). Tesco have an aggressive growth strategy, but as they are finding in the US organic growth can be slow, and despite the successes
it is going to take time to increase market share and be in a position where they can become a dominant player in the US market, this is also going
to take investment and effort. A wise strategic move for fast growth is to make an acquisition, looking for affirm that would be a good fit which would give
access to new markets and increase revenues and profits would be to make an acquisition. As the firm is already dominant in the UK further acquisitions here would only bring
a marginal benefits and would be unlikely to yield any meaningful results due to the regulation on competition. Two firms that may make potential good acquisition targets are Ahold
and Groupe Casino. Ahold operates in the US and in Europe, Groupe Casino is also international, with a large presence in France and then diverse operations include supermarkets in The
Netherlands, Argentina, Mauritius, Thailand and other diverse areas. Both of which may be seen as having the potential to add to the portfolio of the group in a meaningful
