has times of frustration when it seems that punching something would be a great relief. Fortunately, most of us understand the implications of punching anothers face, and we have
the presence of mind to realize that punching a wall will only result in the need to repair the wall as soon as the hand heals. In the end,
we deal with the frustrating problem or come to realize that some things are simply beyond personal control and move on. We can rationally see that while an outburst
might relieve the tension momentarily, it has no hope of improving the situation and very likely will only make it worse. Some are
unable to approach anger and frustration rationally, however. There have been countless studies linking excessive aggression with personality, most of which have concluded that heightened aggression can be positively
linked with some personality types. Others have used specific personality traits as predictors of aggressive behavior. Still others claim that aggression is fully a product of the individuals
environment. The purpose here is to explore whether aggressive tendencies are innate or learned. The Problem Aggression in high school students has
been studied from several different perspectives, but it appears that there has been no attempt to relate grade expectations with aggression levels. In light of the increase in the
incidence of violent events within high schools, the possibility that grade performance could have effect on the problem makes it worthy of study.
