puzzled and uncertain what to do in situations where these feelings arise. Were also sometimes puzzled about where such feelings originate. This paper examines the social learning view
of aggression, and how environmental conditions can provoke aggressive behavior. Social Learning Theory Perhaps the most famous person associated with social learning theory is Albert Bandura. He
believed that children were not born with aggressive tendencies, but learned them from various sources, including the environment. The experiment for which he is best known, the "bobo doll
studies," forms the basis for much of social learning theory. In this experiment, Bandura made a film of a young woman, one of his students, "essentially beating up a
bobo doll" (Boeree, 1998). [A bobo doll is an inflatable doll thats weighted at the bottom so that it pops right back up when its knocked down.] The

children were not given any particular instructions or encouragement before they went to the playroom, they went in and began to beat up the doll without anything further being said
