a law firm might give to a student seeking an entry-level job in a legal setting. This memorandum relates some of the techniques that a student can use to
find a job and methods to improve the chance the student will get a good job. When seeking a job in a legal setting, the first piece of advice
a manager would give is to do your homework. Firms are impressed by individuals who have spent some time getting to know the firm, done their research and can
discuss the background, approaches and legal perspective of the firm. At the same time, dont pretend to know information about the firm when you dont. While its good
to see candidates who can demonstrate a connection between their own goals and the specific goals of the organization, the applicant can use questions about knowledge of the firm to
ask his/her own questions. Interviewers are often impressed by individuals who can adapt what they learn about the firm in the interview to a statement about the connection between
firm goals and personal goals. The second piece of advice is to come to an interview with a set of questions to ask the interviewer. In most interviews,
the interviewer will ask if the applicant has any questions about the job. This gives the applicant the opportunity to ask a variety of questions about the firm and
the job, but the questions should be pointed, directly related to the type of job you will hold, and reference specifics about the firm. This tells the interviewer that
