academic background and have always been successful in nursing coursework. I also have had a wide range of experiences during my seven years of work as a critical care
nurse and as a traveling nurse in Ohio and California. These experiences serve as the basis for my development as an effective nurse and this experiential learning will serve
as the basis for my expanded education. These experiences have also taught me to be both culturally and academically flexible and adapt to a variety of learning environments.
My reasons for choosing UCLA relate to the fact that I have worked in Los Angeles as a traveling nurse since 2004 and
have learned of the universitys reputation and value in this community as a result of my work. Both the hospital and the school are held in very high esteem
and I believe that my education at UCLA will open many different kinds of doors for me as an advanced practice nurse. In addition, my work experience has given
me exposure to a number of professional nurses who have graduated from UCLA, who describe the program as extensive and competitive. It is my hope that this kind of
program will foster my highest level of achievement and help me focus on both the immediacy of my educational process and the development of lifelong learning skills. In alignment
