continue on in some field of medicine. Though the course of my study as an undergraduate, though, I recognized the value of different types of interventions and different methods
for securing health. Chiropractic practice emerged as a potential career choice after seeking the help of a chiropractor for a sports-related injury.
My pursuit of a career as a chiropractor extends from my practical knowledge of biochemical and physiological components and my experience with chiropractic treatments, which I sought to improve
my physical performance and to ensure that my body is functioning at peak levels. Through my experiences with a chiropractor, I learned that regular adjustments support greater wellness and
increased physical performance. The benefits of weekly chiropractic care has played an important role in shaping who I am as an athlete and the emphasis I place on physical,
psychological and social well-being. One of the main concepts in chiropractic care is the notion that wellness extends from health maintenance as
well as from interventions. Chiropractic is a holistic approach, one that is based on the belief that while people may seek chiropractic services because of an accident, illness or
use injury, the long-term view of the patient is based on pursuing and maintaining health. This corresponds with my own views of the best approaches to health care.
