personal belief in my potential to provide support for urban populations; my existing experiences in the fields of social work and education; and my belief that populations, including multicultural populations,
can benefit from positive social models for change. I believe I have the skills and experience to pursue a career as a case manager and supervisor of other
case workers in a public service agency. All of these career goals are stepping stones for what I believe will be my final career "destination," to become a licensed
clinical social worker and provide direct counseling services for at-risk populations. My skills support my career focus and underscore my focus on the progression of a career in social
work. The student should include specific elements about his/her point of view, experiences, etc. that demonstrate specific skills. The following are general reflections that a student could
use in writing this kind of essay: I possess a variety of skills that contribute to my ability to pursue a career in social work including a
focus on academic achievement, willingness to work hard, and determination. These skills have helped me in my undergraduate studies, as well as in both employment and volunteer opportunities.
