Manufacturing is headquartered in San Jose, California. It has manufacturing facilities in Albany, Georgia and Pontiac, Michigan, and it is involved in a joint venture in Hangzhou, China.
Some of the identified weaknesses in Riordans processes include aging computer systems; receiving processes; inventory management; and supply chain issues. The purpose here is to assess appropriate means of
addressing these issues. Aging Computer Systems Each of Riordans locations has several PCs and servers. Existing systems have been adequate in the
past, but better technology and more integrated systems exist today. The proper system will allow Riordan to integrate its efforts; provide real- or nearly-real time reports; and automate systems
to the extent that there is much less data entry required. Not only does less data entry allow Riordan to operate with greater internal efficiency, it also reduces the
number of opportunities for introducing errors into the data on which Riordans management depends. Receiving There are several problems with Riordans receiving processes.
