leads to the expulsion from Paradise. This paper argues that Eve has gotten a lot of bad press over the centuries, particularly from organizations like the Roman Catholic Church with
its vicious doctrine of Original Sin, and that this is unfair, because she and Adam are both equally guilty of sin. Discussion The Biblical verses tell us that the Serpent
was subtle and cunning beyond any of the other wild creatures on Earth, and tempted Eve by asking if it was true that they werent supposed to eat any fruit
in the garden. She replied that there was only one tree they could not touch, and the Serpent said that was because if they ate that fruit, they would be
like God himself, and he didnt want that, so he had forbidden them to touch it. "So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that
it was a delight to the eyes and that the tree was to be desired t make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate; and she also gave
some to her husband, and he ate" (Genesis 3:6). This certainly doesnt sound like shes forcing the fruit down Adams throat, nor does he try to stop her when
she first goes to taste the fruit. In fact, in a book called Forgiveness, the authors make just these points, saying that Adam and Eve dont actually know why theyre
