The school should have at least one extra fire extinguisher in case of failure of one of those positioned as required by the local

for the safety officer to find on his return the following day. If there is no spare extinguisher available, the teacher should leave
messages for the director and safety officer, and inform others in the immediate area of her actions. The matter needs to be resolved quickly, but the presence of a
safety officer indicates that the school is in compliance with regulations regarding the number of fire extinguishers it must have and placement of those fire extinguishers (Fire Prevention in Schools,
