environmental factors that cause variance. In the case of the marble being dropped onto the pressure plate, the reason the marbles rate of acceleration does not perfectly adhere to the
standard formula for that principle is that the standard formula assumes acceleration in a vacuum, whereas when we drop the marble in the lab, it encounters air resistance, which slows
its drop to the plate. To achieve more standardized results, we could potentially reduce air resistance on the marble in a few ways. Firstly, we could alter the shape of
the marble such that it had a smaller cross-sectional area, and therefore less of a face to catch air and provide resistance. Additionally, we could alter the texture of the
marble by carefully polishing it and smoothing it into a perfect sphere. While it may already look perfectly spherical, even microscopic imperfections in its spherical nature may increase air resistance
and distort the measurement. By reducing cross-sectional area and ensuring the shape is as aerodynamic as possible, we can markedly reduce air resistance and get more consistent results. In the
case of the paper tape passing through the electrical buzzer, drag and friction are the reasons for the results not adhering to the expected formulae exactly. In this case, we
can attempt to reduce this friction in a few ways. The simplest would be to add some kind of lubricant to the surfaces of the paper as well as the
electric buzzer such that the paper would experience less drag when passing over the surface of the buzzer, because the lubricating fluid would provide a buffer between them. In this
way, the environmental variable of friction is reduced, and results more accurate to the theoretical are attained. Practical Applications While the variation between the theoretical constant and
