of this article by Craig & Zuckerman is seemingly to warn investors that banks are taking a lot more chances with their investments than they might ordinarily. This is priamrily
attributable to low interest rates, according to authors. Authors drop some names like Goldman Sachs Group and go into specific risks taken by certain banks. The article warns that more
money is at risk today because of that phenomenon. Craig and Zuckerman present the other side, suggesting that if investments do well, the payoff is enormous. The paper concludes not
so much with a warning, as the article commences, but rather with a look at the possibility of bond investments and what the actions of the Fed will do to
investments. Overall, the article is informative and not very opinionated. The author does come on strong at the start and suggests that todays markets are more risky due to the
fact that banks must be aggressive to be very profitable. The implications of this article go to the problem of low inflationary times and the challenges it presents for banks.
It also provides a stern warning for consumers. What the article does overall is to provide food for thought for investors and traders and it seems to be a good
general piece but lacks conviction. Smith, R. (2004, March 9). J.P. Morgan Is Facing Heat Of Patriot Act. Wall Street Journal, p.C1.
