2007). God told Abram (later changed to Abraham): "Leave your country, your people and your fathers household and go to the land I will show you" (Genesis 12:1). Even though
he was 75 years old, Abraham did not question God, he simply obeyed God and left with his wife, Sarah, and nephew, Lot (Genesis 12:4-5). God made a strong
and long-lasting commitment to Abraham. He said: "I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you. . . . I will bless those who bless you,

the shade, wash their feet and eat (Genesis 18:1-8). Another example of his compassion and caring was the time he tried to negotiate with God to save Sodom and Gomorrah
(Genesis 18:23). Abraham always wanted to believe people were good, an important quality in any leader. Abraham was also a humble man and even referred to himself as a servant.
