wrong, nor does it claim that abortion is right. It essentially seems to suggest that everyone need to examine many different perspectives concerning morality and a persons individual rights. In the essay A Mans Right to Choose by Dalton Conley the author argues that men may well have rights where their children, unborn children, are concerned. Clearly they are very different essays, addressing different sides of the abortion issue in society. The following paper presents a hypothetical/tutorial examination of what Thomson may argue or state as it relates to Conleys essay. Abortion: Thomson and Conley As noted, Thomsons essay does not openly choose one side or the other of abortion, but makes points that one must consider perhaps in their own understanding of abortion and all it entails. She makes no mention of men as it involves abortion, and any role they may have in the abortion, other than through the act of procreation be it rape or otherwise. In light of this perspective one can well say that Thomson may find many valid points made by Conley. The following portions will now present what Thomson may say in response to Conleys essay. This will be followed by further discussion/conclusion. Conley notes that "The bottom line is that if we want to make fathers relevant, they need rights, too. If a father is willing to legally commit to raising a child with no help from the mother he should be able to obtain an injunction against the abortion of the fetus he helped create" (Conley, 2005).
