they are legal or not, and by being pro-choice they feel they are at least protecting the womans life. And, as another example, an individual can be strongly pro-life, yet
feel abortions for the safety of the life of the mother should be allowable. There are many issues which involve the subject of abortion, and this paper addresses the two
predominant sides, and illustrates the many different levels of involvement therein. The paper ends with the argument that abortion should be legal, even from a philosophical standpoint. The
Issues If we were to strictly illustrate both sides to the abortion issue, we would have the pro-life side and the pro-choice side. The most central theme to the debate
is that which involves the pro-lifers who believe that the fetus is biologically, legally, and morally, a human being and as such people have no right to choose death for
the fetus. Pro-choice individuals often argue that the fetus is nothing more than a part of the womans body, with no more significance than a womans hair, and as such
it is perfectly moral and ethical to rid the body of its unwanted presence. As seen, the pro-life side believes that abortion is murder, in all its states. They
firmly believe that a fetus, from the moment of conception, is a live human being and that abortion is actually the murdering of the fetus, which is a real individual.
