is the leading company that handles digital editing and professional audio systems used in the film, music and television industries (Meyer, 2004). The product range of this company is large
and includes "Film Composer, Symphony and Avid Xpress, which are used by music and film studios, production and post-production facilities, radio broadcasters and television stations (Meyer, 2004). Meanwhile, other products,
such as ProTools, are editing systems (Meyer, 2004). Avid also produces animation design software, newsroom automation systems and digital storage systems (Meyer, 2004). More than 50 percent of the companys
sales are outside North America (Meyer, 2004). William Warner launched Avid in 1987 to develop a prototype digital editor based on Apollo
