concentration in this particular industry is between two companies - Coles Group Limited and Woolworths. Coles Group operates more than 2,160 supermarkets, liquor stores and combination gas stations and convenience
stores throughout the country (Biesada, 2010). Meanwhile number-one food retailer Woolworths Ltd. operates more than 3,100 supermarkets, general merchandise and electronics stores throughout Australia and New Zealand (Biesada (b), 2010).
