often dismissed from regular classrooms or branded incorrigible by unknowing administrators. However, in the last half of the modern age scientists have discovered that these children were not simply behaviorally
challenged, but that they were experiencing a syndrome called, ADHD, or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Every year countless children are diagnosed with this syndrome. However, it has to be
stated that these children do not suffer alone. Their parents also suffer. Their friends suffer. Those who work with them on a regular basis suffer in some way. It has
to be said that nearly all of the people who surround the ADHD child want to help the child but often are simply ill equipped to do so. What
research is showing now, however, is that those trouble makers may not necessarily start out to be difficult, rebellious or learning impaired, but in fact may simply process information differently
than is the norm. These types of learners are considered to be divergent learners, and it may very well be that their personalities can give the educator a heads up
on handling them in the classroom situation. What most of the experts are quick to state is that for now, no one knows what causes ADHD. In fact, the only
thing that the experts can do is to state that they do know that it is biological in nature, though environment can over stimulate an already bad condition. ADHD does
seem to run in families(NIH 2003). A study was published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition where they found that in the ADHD children there was a deficiency
