Work Motivation from the Cross Cultural Perspective," author Khaliq Ahmad attempts to add his own take on the situation by researching literature about Islam business and business leaders as they
pertain to dealing with western cultures. In this paper, well analyze Ahmads article, to determine the aim of the study, the hypothesis, methodology,
variables, sampling, statistical tools and major findings. Lets first define some of the tools well be using to examine this article. Merriam-Websters dictionary
defines hypothesis as assumptions made for the sake of argument, or research (2009). Ahmads hypothesis is two-fold. First, there is little (if any) literature that deals with conventional management thought
and leadership from an Islam perspective, especially as it deals with Western business, leadership and conventional management thought. Second, Khan attempts to outline, compare and contrast leadership and management thought
between Islam and Western cultures, while pointing out that not many Islam managers are comfortable in working with western cultures. This comfort needs to be attained, as Islam countries end
up doing business globally. Going back to Merriam-Webster, the definition of methodology involves the set of procedures used to prove or disprove
the hypothesis (2009). In this case, Khans methodology was to scan the current literature dealing with Islamic leadership and motivation. The author uses a descriptive method, relying on knowledge sources
