The thesis behind this is that China and India would become the worlds dominant suppliers of manufactured goods and services, whereas Brazil and Russia would dominate as suppliers of raw materials (BRIC, 2011). The other thing these economies have in common is that the current wealth is something new: During the latter part of the 20th century, these economies struggled to supply the necessary goods and services to their populations. These days, however, theyre considered to be the strength of developing countries. Furthermore, consumer demand for goods and services has increased in all countries because of the rise of a middle class. There are, however, a great many differences between these four countries as follows. Brazil Brazils economic history is one of ups and downs - at various times, this nation offered various exports such as sugar, coffee and rubber. However, throughout the 1980s and 1990s, the economy experienced runaway inflation, which exerted downward pressure on any growth - the inflation dated back to the 1950s, during which the government kept printing more and more money, and presidents until the early 1990s had no idea how to correct the situation (How Fake Money Saved Brazil, 2010). At one point, inflation hit 80% (How Fake Money Saved Brazil, 2010).
